The design, simulation and measurement of a beam steerable slotted waveguideantenna operating at 9.35 GHz are presented. The proposed beam steerableantenna consists of a standard rectangular waveguide (RWG) section with twoinserted dielectric slabs. To illustrate the proposed methodology, a 20-slotarray antenna has been designed, built and measured. The beam steering in thisconfiguration is achieved by rotating the slabs inside the waveguide andconsequently changing the phase of the slots in the far field. A 14{deg} beamdeflection from near broadside toward end-fire direction is observed with agood input match, narrow beamwidth, moderate side-lobe performance andacceptable gain values.
