RECYCLING OF PACKAGING WASTE IN SUSTAINABILITY FRAMEWORK: APPLICATION OF LINEAR PROGRAMMING

While the resources to meet consumer demands are in danger of exhaustion,packaging waste needs to be recycled for a sustainable world. It is aimed to collect thepackaging waste from the 4 collection areas on the subject and to determine thepackaging waste amounts to minimize the costs and minimize the costs of shipment tothe Collection and Seperation Plant (TAT). For this purpose, then a linearprogramming model was formulated to minimize the costs occured in the network ofcollection and delivery of packaging waste.The model was solved with LINDO 6.01program. At the and of study: between the facility cost and the model cost a savingamount of TL 22.730 were found.
