摘要

In this paper, different waste heat recoveryudconcepts for a high temperature fuel cell range extenderudvehicle developed by the DLR Institute of VehicleudConcepts will be presented. These concepts useudthermochemical heat storages to recover thermal energyudfrom the powertrain waste heat and to re-use it for heatingudpurpose before or during the drive. The focus will be onudmetal hydride storages, which have a higher specificudenergy density than the phase change energy storages andudwill thus be more advantageous for vehicle application.udIn order to investigate the developed waste heatudrecovery concepts in the entire vehicle, appropriateudsimulation models will be created in the simulationudenvironment Modelica/Dymola, then integrated into anudoverall vehicle simulation model. It is found that theudintegration of the thermochemical heat storages into theudfuel cell thermal management system leads to increase theudrange by up to 17 %.
