摘要

Developments in the world of entertainment and information currently has experienced a very rapid progress. How many mass media that exist today make audiences must be smart in choosing which suits their needs. Of course can also provide benefits and knowledge and more insight into the audiencesudthat corresponden to the function of mass media namely give information, education, entertainment, and persuasive. Impressions "Malam Minggu Miko" on the Kompas TV present an entertainment program that has different concepts. The study using the uses and gratifications theory because the main problem is not how to research change the attitudes abd behavior of media audiences, but how the media fulfill theudneeds of the audience.udThis multistage cluster random sampling used in withdrawal of samples. Data collection is using a questionnaire with a Likert scale techniques. The samples were rated ages 20 - 35 of Surabaya viewers who watched the program "Malam Minggu Miko" at Kompas TV.udThe result of this stdy it can be concluded that there are three underlying motive in watching the program "Malam Minggu Miko" at Kompas TV which are personal identity motives, integration and social interaction motives in the medium category.
