It was analyzed the influence of density and depth of sowing in the growth of plants in the production of seedlings in the variety of San Andrea. There were applied three densities of sowing (150 g seeds/m2, 250 g seeds/m2 and 300 g seeds/m2) and two depths of sowing (0.5 cm long and 2-3 cm) in a randomized block system, in three repetitions. The growth of plants was measured one week after sowing (first measurement) two weeks after sowing (second measurement) and three weeks after sowing (third measure). The results showed that sowing seeds with 250 g /m2 provides plants with the best growth. On average, the plants with variant 250 g seeds/m2 have for 12,28 % greater length of root and 6,10 % higher in relation to the stem of the plants with variant 300 g seeds/m2. The production of the dry weight of the plants with variant 250 g seeds/m2 was about 19,18 % higher compared to variant seed 300 g/m2. Sowing depth 0,5 cm resulted in improved plants in terms of sowing depth 2-3 cm. On average, sowing with 0,5 cm depth resulted in 29,83 % higher root plant compared with sowing 2-3 cm depth of sowing. Sowing depth 2-3 cm resulted in a lengthening of the stem to 1,22 % and reduced the dry weight of 30,14 % compared to the sowing depth 0,5 cm.ududKeywords: transplanted rice, seeding density, seeding depth, seedling.
