The resilience to fraud of the UK social housing sector:research into how well UK social housing organisations protect themselves

Fraud within the social housing sector could cost the British taxpayer more than £2billion a year. Each time this cost is estimated the figures rise, and it is already clear that the £900million estimated by the National Fraud Authority in January 2011 will be superseded in January 2012. It is a serious issue for organisations operating within the sector and one that has far reaching consequences including the reduction in the availability and quality of homes.
