Evaluating Mobile Text Entry with the Fastap Keypad

摘要

This paper describes the evaluation of a new keyboardinterface for mobile devices. The Fastap keypad isdesigned to allow one character per key-press input onmobile devices without requiring additional hardware(such as a plug-in keyboard) or a stylus-based inputdisplay. Results of the evaluation show that Fastap isboth efficient and rapidly learnable when compared withthe current industry standard methods for text messaging.
