In this paper, we propose a three-way planar forkpower divider that has its ports located on a straight line. Toachieve equal phase output ports, transmission lines are insertedbetween the fork divider and two of the output ports. To reducecircuit size without the need for meandering, left-handedtransmission lines are also used. Simulations of a 3-waymicrostripline power divider operating at 5 GHz demonstratedthat the performance was comparable to a 3-way divider realizedfrom only microstripline, but with a size reduction of 27%.
