Response of Simple Structural Systems to Traveling Seismic Waves

The results of studies of the dynamic response of a simple structuralsystem with coupled translational and rotational degrees-of-freedomsubjected to ground motion containing both translational and rotationalcomponents are presented. The investigation was carried out with a viewtoward assessing current building code procedures and arriving at boundson the interrelationship between torsional and translational response.
