Color photographs and color motion pictures in the library: For preservation or destruction?

The stability shortcomings of color photographs present specialproblems in library collections. With the exception of post- 1939 Kodachromefilms that have been kept in the dark, most color photographsand non-Technicolor motion pictures made from 1935 until perhaps1980 have by now suffered significant, even catastrophic, fading.
