A school in a small town, such as Gabrovka, is an institution, which, irrespective of time and place, lives and breathes with the local people. It is also an institution that gives us the basic knowledge for future life and work. Teachers haven’t been lecturing in a traditional way for a very long time. A modern school, with the use of computer and other information technology in all areas of its operations, allows the pupils to acquire knowledge in many perceivable layers.udIn this thesis I present a multimedia teaching aid on the history of Gabrovka and its education. It is meant for teachers and pupils from 1st to 3rd grade of Gabrovka  Dole Primary School. The aim of my thesis is to encourage teachers to use innovative teaching approaches. This device allows simultaneous integration of a text, images, a video, a sound and an animation, which enables interactive, multi-sensory process of memorizing and attracts pupils’ attention. udThe theoretical part describes historical overview of Gabrovka’s development, education and the field of integration of the topic into the curriculum for the first three grades of primary school. The term ‘multimedia’ is defined; the meaning it has in the current information technology world, how it can be used in education and its advantages and disadvantages. The instructions for producing such multimedia teaching aids are attached. With the help of these I developed criteria relating to the level of pupils’ development, which the device is intended to.udI produced a multimedia teaching aid called 'Gaber'. First I studied the curriculum, selected the appropriate technological medium and prepared the script and scheme of links between pages. I have used the programme at my work in the classroom as a tool for revising and identifying the gained knowledge. I also verified the product to see, weather it is, depending on criteria, suitable for classroom usage and if it allows effective learning and thus the pupils’ progress. udThe results have shown that the multimedia teaching aid, with additional reading and interpreting, is suitable for classroom usage in the first three grades and allows the adoption of knowledge according to the hypothesis. Pupils’ attention was caught by the mascot ‘Gaber’ and multi-sensory approach. ud
