Dance creativity in the Reggio Emilia pedagogical concept

The article highlights the importance of dance performance in the Reggio Emiliaudpedagogical concept and introduces the dance education as part of the comprehensiveudlearning that has a positive impact on every area of the child's development, i.e. theudsocial and emotional, the cognitive and the psychomotoric one. In the article theudparallels are drawn between Malaguzzi's theory on 100 languages of the child'sudexpression, Gardner's theory on multiple intelligences and Glasser's theory on four basicudhuman needs. The mentioned theories are linked to the objectives of the danceudeducation in the kindergarten. Positive impacts of expressing through a move areudreferred to: developing creativity, non-verbal communication among children andudbetween a child and an adult, use of all senses, expressing emotions and moods, raisingudphysical awareness and fostering different forms of expression. The above mentioned are all important foundations of the Reggio Emilia pedagogical concept, the startingudpoint of which is a child.
