摘要

Conventional prejudices regarding the inferiority of childrenʼs and adolescent literature inudcomparison with adult literature have inhibited their literary, theoretical and methodologicaludstudy. This has affected its – most frequently marginal – position within the framework of theudnational literary corpus and, thereby, in literary-historical syntheses (Ujević, Ježić, Barac, Šicel,udFrangeš, Jelčić, Prosperov Novak). Recently, researchers of childrenʼs literature have successfullyudbeen introducing the study of this phenomenon into the discourse of literary scholarship. Inudthat sense, the aim of this paper is to explore the ways in which literary studies shed light notudonly upon Ivana Brlić-Mažuranićʼs works in historical surveys of Croatian literature, but alsoudupon childrenʼs literature in general, bearing in mind the broader cultural-historical context ofudthe development of the relationship between childrenʼs and adult literature within the nationaludcorpus.
