Mechanical and Rheological Properties of Grains and the Effect of Imperfections on the Pressures in Grain Silos

The report contains investigations of loads in grain silos and the mechanical and rheological properties of wheat and barley. The work has been performed at the Department of Farm Buildings of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Lund. The author has worked out the theoretical models and is responsible for the overall planning, performance and evaluation of own tests. Some triaxial tests were carried out by the Department of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering at the Lund Institute of Technology.
