The report seeks to improve the utilization of raw materials and of product upgrading in the area of food processing at the Zambia Industrial and Mining Corporation (ZIMCO). It is concluded that a R & D Unit is to be built up at ZIMCO/INDECO, incorporating the services of a food specialist. His primary activity will be to assist research, development, and innovations in the food subsector in line with the Government's priority of making the nation self-sufficient in the sphere of food production. Technology and R & D related information is given for the production of: meat, fish and poultry; milk; edible oils; baker's products; beer; sugar; and coffee, tea, etc.
