摘要

Data collected at ambient fixed sites may not adequately reflect personal CO exposures, as they most often miss exposures resulting from CO emissions from sources in the immediate physical surroundings of individuals, such as within automobiles. The SHAPE model was proposed to account for this missing component of exposure and provides the basis for the model to be discussed. The viewpoint of the model construct is to follow a person over a 24 or 48 hour time interval. In the study, activity pattern data obtained in the Denver, CO and Washington, D.C. are used to define the sequence of microenvironments and durations within each microenvironment. The focus of the study is development of the concentration values experienced by individuals over 1-hour and 8-hour time periods.
