Programs Serving Drug-Exposed Children and Their Families. Volume 2. Site Visit Summaries and Program Descriptions

The report examined the efforts of St. Petersburg, Portland, Los Angeles, and Chicago to serve drug-exposed infants and their families and described individual programs within these cities that serve the population. The project included discussions with more than 100 individuals and preparation of case studies of each city. Each site visit summary included: (1) profiles of the city; (2) estimates of the number of drug-exposed infants born annually in the city; (3) service delivery systems; (4) factors shaping the delivery system; (5) financial issues; (6) program effectiveness; (7) needs and gaps in the service delivery system; and (8) future initiatives to serve drug-exposed infants and their families. Program descriptions assessed the history of each project, services for drug-exposed children and their families, and service delivery issues.
