Final Technical Report for HYDAMP: A Joint Industry Program on Hydrodynamic Damping and Combined Motion

摘要

The studies aim is to improve present practice by providing a rational basis for selection of Morison coefficients and of the equation's functional form. The study uses the combined motion data fromteh SSPA tests, Rodenbusch & Kallstrom, with an alternative to the Morison equation, called the Inertial Pressure Method (IPM), which has been discussed by Horton & Feifarek, Horton et al, and Rish. The IPM will serve as a guide in this study, but the results with be Morison based.
