The Second US-FRG Workshop on the Photochemical Ozone Problem and Its Control washeld in Chapel Hill, NC, USA, on June 5-8, 1990. Its scope was expanded, relative to the First Workshop, to include subjects of interest to the Commission of European Communities and to the United Kingdom Department of the Environment. Specific topics included policy developments in the US and Europe, atmospheric chemistry of organic pollutants, the relationships of ozone to its precursors and models of such relationships, the EMEP photochemical ozone model and on-going research programs in Europe and the US. The Workshop Steering Committee offered recommendations for a third workshop in 1992 in Europe, for specific workshop topics, for joint US-Europe studies, and for cooperative training programs.
