摘要

A tourism marketing plan was formulated using an inventory of visitor services and facilities in Southwest Alaska and an accompanying assessment of the residents' views on developing the tourist industry in their communities. The marketing strategy is based on four considerations: the targeted visitor, the expectations of the host community, the participation of local government, and the cooperation of business enterprises. Two assets will be marketed regionwide: sport fishing and adventure travel. Other attractive assets are Russian heritage, native culture, birding, and wildlife viewing.
