Initial Submission: The Toxicity of Ditertiary-Butyl Para-Cresol with Cover Letter dated 10/27/1992

The purposes of this preliminary investigation were to determine the Approximate Lethal Oral Doses of ditertiarybutyl-p-cresol (DP) for the dog, cat and guinea pig. (A report issued on the 25th of May, 1950 to the Shell Chemical Company gave the LD50 of 'Specially Purified' and 'Aged' Ionol for the rat as being equal to 1.49 gm./kg. The materials were administered by stomach tube in one dose as 20% solutions in corn oil.) Certain eagloratory tests were to be carried out regarding the effects of DEP an the rates of excretion of glucuronates and organic sulfates in use urine of rabbits.
