There are good reasons for reducing resistance on tractor controls. Regular workwith stiff controls may cause physical strains of different types. In addition, many people today suffer from problems involving their joints and which may be aggravated by work with stiff controls. Particular attention should be given to the clutch, being one of the most frequently used controls. To some extent, resistance in a stiff clutch can be reduced by thorough cleaning and greasing, but frequently the reduction needed is still greater. The present study included a system suitable for Valmet tractors. The principal is that a valve is activated by the clutch linkage. This implies, in contrast to the electro-hydraulic system, that the normal clutch pedal is used. The system gives a low, constant and adjustable pedal force. The pedal can also be used for extra low speed work and for slipping the clutch. This system also requires familiarity with hydraulic components when fitting the system.
