Recruiting and Retaining Foster Families to Care for Children with AIDS

The report describes a 4-year demonstration project carried out by the Leake andWatts Services. The project's purpose was to develop a model for increasing the capacity of the foster care system to care for HIV-positive children. This was accomplished by working intensively with several foster care agencies, providing training and technical assistance, and developing innovative foster care methods.
