On November 12, 1991, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Equipment Manufactures Institute (EMI) cosponsored a workshop to explore ways in which the U.S. Government can assist the mobile machinery industry to meet conformity assessment requirements and gain acceptance of its products in international markets such as the European Community (EC). The report summarizes the discussions.
