摘要

During 1988-90, the Wyoming and Montana offices of the U.S. Geological Survey(USGS) jointly studied the water quality (salinity) of the Powder River and its principal tributaries. Objectives of the investigation were to (1) compile existing surface-water-quality data for the basin and collect additional data, (2) define water-quality characteristics of the Powder River and major tributaries, (3) develop and test a conceptual model of the hydrologic system that could be used to assess the hydrologic effects of water development on water quantity and quality.
