Conversion of Methanol-Fueled 16-Valve, 4-Cylinder Engine to Operation on Gaseous2H2/CO Fuel. Interim Report 4

The report describes progress to date on a project to convert a Nissan CA18DEengine previously modified for operation on M100 neat methanol to operation on dissociated methanol (2H2/CO) gaseous fuel. This engine was operated on both M100 and simulated dissociated methanol (67 percent hydrocarbon and 33 percent carbon monoxide) fuels. This report describes recent modifications made to the engine and fuel delivery system and summarizes the results from recent testing.
