Analysis of a Request for Funding of a Feasibility Study for the Modernization ofRomanian Telecommunications

The report analyzes a request for funding of a feasibility study for themodernization of the Romanian telecommunications network, together with a review of U.S. Trade and Development Program (TDP) policy and objectives, of US equipment and services export competitiveness, as well as of possible sources of project financing. The feasibility study is suitable for partial TDP funding. There appears to be a good likelihood for export of U.S. equipment and services in the categories of transmission, satellite earth stations, data processing equipment and software.
