Proposal for a Differential Weighting Scheme for Logic Based Test Items

The objective is to devise a differential item-scoring formula that would assign a greater weight to those logic-based test items (henceforth called 'bias' items) whose underlying logical inference schemas are of a special type, and form a taxonomy, which previous work has identified as 'illogical biases' in reasoning. Thus, it is basically a class of illogical inference schemas which is to be weighted differently from other inference classes. The formula is to be guided by rational considerations and theoretical expectations, but derived from the empirical-statistical properties of the items as revealed in the Stockholm study. In addition, the formula must be administratively acceptable and rationalized policy-wise.
