National Mortality Followback Survey: 1986 Summary, United States

Data collected in the 1986 National Followback Survey are presented in 81 tablesaccording to pertinent sets of descriptive variables. The tables are grouped into three categories: care in the last year of life, lifestyle and health, and socioeconomic characteristics of decedents. Data are presented on health services used, disabilities, help with activities of daily living, out-of-pocket expenditures for health care, smoking practices and other lifestyle patterns that affect health and longevity, incidence of disease, and socioeconomic characteristics--including income, education, and employment. The survey covered a representative sample of all adult deaths in the United States.
