New Water Level Prediction Method Applied to the Zeepipe Dredging Project

摘要

A new system for onboard water level prediction is developed and applied to theZeepipe project. Survey vessels and hoppers are equipped with this new software system that proves to be very accurate in the field. The paper gives a short description of the Zeepie Project, the method used in the water level prediction system and the operational system onboard of the vessels. Furthermore, the performance in the field after half a year of operation is discussed. Some theoretical background on the astronomical tide is included in the appendix.
