Improved Performance of Southern Pine Structural Glued-Laminated Timber.

摘要

A high strength/stiffness glued-laminated (glulam) beam combination was developed to achieve a design bending stress of 300 lb/sqin and modulus of elasticity of 200,000 lb/sqin. 40 beams were evaluated. The properties of the lumber grades used in the layup, as well as the placement of the lumber within the beams, were closely monitored during beam manufacture.
