The Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is conducting an audit of the domestic use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) by the Department of Justice (DOJ), commonly referred to as unmanned aerial vehicles or drones, as well as its support and provision of UAS to other law enforcement agencies and non-profit organizations.1 This interim report presents an overview of DOJs UAS use and policies as of May 2013.
