Manufactured Home Fire Experience Through 1989 Fires. Final Report

摘要

The report evaluates the effects of HUD Standards on manufactured homes and makesrecommendations for future fire protection policy. A comparison of safety records shows that the numbers of manufactured home fires and related damage have declined significantly since the adoption of HUD Standards in 1976, although the number of deaths and injuries per hundred fires has leveled off since 1980. Statistical analysis singles out the use of smoke detectors as the HUD Standard most effective in reducing deaths and injuries due to fire.
