Hypermedia Presentation Composer: A Tool for Automatic Hyperdocument Delivery.

Taking the Individualized Electronic Newspaper (IEN) and ipsiLex as examples of innovative hypermedia publications, the paper discusses requirements for hyperdocument delivery. It introduces the design and architecture of the Hypermedia Presentation Composer, a knowledge-based tool for automatic hyperdocument delivery. The Hypermedia Presentation Composer follows the general design principle of the integrated publishing environment: the logical document structure is separated from all kinds of semantics. In doing so, the Hypermedia Presentation Composer serves as a vehicle to experiment with the presentation and delivery of electronic documents to different hypermedia systems.
