Physicochemical Properties of Methane Storage and Transport in Devonian Shale.Annual Report, June 1991-May 1992

The report details the flow parameters and behavior of methane and helium gasflow in Vycor glass, berea sandstone, and Devonian shale samples. Over 100 degassing runs were made, however, fewer are reported here due to poor data sampling rate and other experimental difficulties in the initial stages of the study. In a second area, a gas well composition experiment is reported. Data includes gas composition data over a broad range of wellhead pressures. Third, a new approach to the USBM method for well site canister desorption experiments is reported. Data from over 20 canisters are included. In a fourth area, an automated kerogen isolation from source rocks procedure is developed Preliminary results are reported. Finally, construction of a high-pressure apparatus for measurement of gas isotherms to 2500 psia is reported.
