摘要

The aim of the studies was to investigate the role of cytokines in the activation(proliferation and differentiation) of human malignant B cells. The initial goal was to investigate the role of Interleukin-6 in B cell growth and differentiation. However IL-6 is part of the cytokine network. Therefore, its role was investigated in the context of the effects of other cytokines. Contents: Introduction; Role of cytokines in the activation of human malignant B cells: a review; IL-4 inhibits both paracrine and autocrine TNF-alpha-induced proliferation of B chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells; TNF-alpha induces spreading of B-CLL via the CD11c/CD18 molecule; Effect of IL-4 and IL-6 on the proliferation and differentiation of B-CLL cells; Differentiation of purified malignant B cells induced by PMA or by activated normal T cells; Interleukin-6 enhances human Ig production, but not as a terminal differentiation factor for B lymphocytes; Human transferrin allows efficient IgE production by anti-CD3-stimulated human lymphocytes at low cell densities; Monokine production by human T cells; IL-1alpha production restricted to memory T cells; General Discussion.
