The main purpose with the case study was to demonstrate the technical possibilities implemented in various building types and give good examples how to save energy and offer acceptable indoor air quality. With regard to the specific goals of IEA Annex 18 and the ongoing research work, a demand controlled ventilating system (DCV system) is defined in the following way: Demand Controlled Ventilating system (DCV system): a ventilation system in which the air flow rate is governed by measured or perceived airborne pollutants.
