Hogan Pass: Final Report on Archaeological Investigations along Forest Highway 10(State Highway 72), Sevier County, Utah. Volume 1. Introduction, Environment, Palynological Studies, Geological Studies, Methods, Hypothesis Testing

The Hogan Pass project focused on data recovery from sites on the Southern HighPlateaus of central Utah in the path of upgrades to Utah Forest Highway 10. Elevations range from about 2073 m to 2734 m with the road forming a transect through pinon-juniper foothills and lower montane zones. Volume I focuses on project-wide information and studies. An introduction to the project includes the project history, a review of previous investigations, and the research design. An environmental summary is provided. Palynological investigations are included in this volume. Quaternary geology and geomorphology is also addressed in Volume I. These latter two sections are included in Volume I because they are project-wide in scope, even though they address findings at individual sites. Lastly, Volume I presents the results of hypothesis testing. These hypotheses were part of the original technical proposal for the project.
