摘要

This research is a further study of parameters affecting the interface bonding ofthin concrete overlays. The specimens were tested in the flexural mode, while in the previous study, the direct shear test was applied to the specimens. The parameters investigated were surface condition, surface texture, pre-vibration cure time, overlay thickness, and vibration amplitude. The parameters were combined in different sequences and their effects on the interface bonding of concrete overlays are reported. The effects of surface condition were studied by comparing the shear stress obtained with dry surfaces and wet surfaces. The intention of this investigation was to determine the optimal moisture condition at the interface before the placement of the overlay. The effects of surface texture were investigated to determine if scarifying the interface would improve the bond between the overlay and the base concrete.
