Use of Dye Tracing to Determine the Direction of Ground-Water Flow in KarstTerrane at the Kentucky State University Research Farm Near Frankfort, Kentucky

摘要

The primary purpose of this report is to present the results and interpretationof dye-tracer tests at the KSU research farm. The report also explains the methods and procedures of qualitative dye tracing used during this study. Although dye-monitoring sites were concentrated on the farm, a few were as far as 2.5 miles from the farm. The more distant dye-monitoring sites were added to the dye-monitoring network to ensure that all potential discharge points from the drainage basin were monitored, especially during the early study phase when the direction of subsurface flow was not known.
