Planning for Urban Environmental Health Programs in Central America: TheDevelopment of Water and Sanitation-Related Environmental Health Indicators and the Survey of Existing Data in Three Countries

The purpose of the report is to use available data to document water supply andsanitation-related environmental health problems in urban areas of Central America and to make recommendations for follow-up actions. The review was seen as a first step in assessing the urban environmental health situation; therefore, no effort was made to collect new data. The three cities chosen for the survey were Guatemala City, Guatemala; San Salvador, El Salvador; and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
