摘要

The detrimental effects of alcohol consumption on major organs such as the liverand pancreas have long been recognized. The issue presents an overview of the effects of alcohol on the human body including the more obvious problems of liver disease and pancreatitis as well as other, less well-known consequences of alcohol use, alcohol-induced tissue injury, liver regeneration, nutritional deficit, pancreatic function, bone disorders, neurological disorders, effects on bone marrow and blood, and common interactions between alcohol and prescribed drugs are described.
