Northwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety. Final Performance Report: July 1, 1987-June 30, 1992

The report concerns the work conducted at the Northwest Center for Occupational Safety and Health in Washington state during the last 5 years. During this time 91 courses were offered to over 7000 students. Many of the attendees were physicians, industrial hygienists, nurses and safety professionals. Courses provided a broad mix of both basic and advanced topics. Some innovative programs were included dealing with such topics as health and safety in the arts. Funds were awarded to the center in 1988 for the purpose of training in the field of hazardous waste activities. Courses were conducted not only in Washington state but also in Oregon and Alaska. Program highlights were reviewed for the following areas of education: occupational medicine, occupational health nursing, continuing education/outreach program, and the hazardous substance training program.
