Income Security and Retirement Decisions: Informing Older Women about Private Pension Programs. A Resource Brief for the Aging Network

This resource brief explains why Americans need to learn about pensions and provides background information about private pension plans. It focuses on the special needs of older women and discusses reforms developed to improve benefits for this population. In addition, this paper outlines a national education effort--sponsored by the Aging Network--to inform current and future generations of older women about the role of pension income in retirement planning. The pension education program also includes advocacy efforts.
