Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation (FACE) Report for Massachusetts: Self-Employed Massachusetts Real Estate Developer/Builder Electrocuted by Construction Site Generator, FACE-92-MA-017.

On August 03, 1992, a 56 year old real estate developer/builder was electrocuted at a new homesite under construction. While in the process of shutting down a construction site generator for the night, the victim apparently came into contact with a bare electrical conductor. Once the victim was found, emergency medical services were summoned and he was transported to the local hospital where he was pronounced dead approximately one hour later. The Massachusetts FACE Investigator concluded that to prevent similar occurrences in the future, employers should: (1) Ensure that all construction site equipment is maintained and used as intended by the manufacturer of the equipment.
