Development of Micro-Based Interactive Computer Programs: Hydraulics

A computer software package for use in the analysis and design of highway drainage systems was developed. The software package contains the following: Universal Culvert Design Program, Special Culvert Design Program, Long Span Culvert Design Program, Storm Sewer Design Program, Inlet Spacing Program and Ditch (Channel) Analysis Program. The programs were collected into a single software package called HYDRA which is operational on IBM-PC compatible computers. An overview of the theoretical considerations associated with each component of the program is documented along with the objective, procedural outline and data preparation notes for each program. Test application of the programs on systems previously designed by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is detailed. Complete problem statements and a full printout of the test cases are provided.
