The report presents preliminary results from the data collection field test forthe NMES3 Institutional Population Component Feasibility Study. The report, prepared while data collection for the field test was still in progress, summarizes results available from Phase 1 of the field test. The data used in the report are unweighted and have not been subjected to detailed editing beyond that imposed by edits incorporated in the CAPI and CADE data editing software. A more complete presentation of the results of the field test will be provided at the completion of the field test. Topics of analyses include: an overview of the field test data collection, an evaluation of first admissions sampling procedures, an evaluation of the field test procedures for collecting residence history data, an evaluation of field test procedures for collecting expenditure data and an evaluation of the background history data.
