摘要

The study describes the benefits of female education and the educational constraints that females face in developing countries. Four chapters treat current problems and possible approaches to increase female educational success. The focus of the paper is education policy--much of which could be adopted now--to lower costs, improve quality, and increase access to education. It reports evidence and gives examples of effectiveness, particularly from projects involving the World Bank.
