This project addresses the California Clean Air Act requirement to assess therelative contribution of upwind pollutants to violations of the state ozone standard in downwind areas. The objectives of the project were: To develop data analysis methods to quantify the contribution of upwind emissions to downwind ozone concentrations; To apply those methods to the transport of pollutants from the San Francisco Bay Area and the San Joaquin Valley Air Basins, plus the Lower Sacramento Valley, to receptor sites in the Upper Sacramento Valley; and To recommend the best methods to use for the Upper Sacramento Valley. The project results should improve future analysis, modeling, and emission control efforts.
