Core Principles and Outcomes of Gerontology, Geriatrics and Aging Studies Instruction

摘要

The objectives of this 32-month research project were to: (1) develop descriptions of the major orientations of gerontology, geriatrics and aging studies programs of instruction in higher education; (2) identify and validate core organizing principles for gerontology, geriatrics and aging studies instruction in higher education; (3) clarify and validate the knowledge and skill outcomes of three major orientations of gerontology education; and (4) provide an accurate description of the orientation, outcomes, size, structure and stability of current programs of gerontology instruction in higher education. This monograph reports on the results of the first three objectives.
